Site surveys are normally of two types:
1 - the electrical performance and functionality required, and
2 - the physical movement of the units onto site.
The electrical survey is generally done by measuring the load demand, both peak and average and also the relevant harmonic distortion factors of the load. The types of loads are normally identified, such as if DOL motors are required to be started. In addition the fault clearance requirement can be stipulated and a suitable unit sized for the application. This format is similar for all three types of products, Static Frequency Converters, Emergency Lighting Inverters and Industrial UPS.
When it comes to the physical layout, we can be flexible as to how the unit and it’s batteries (if required) are packaged. We try to keep the floor profile as small as possible with front access only whenever possible. Battery Stands/Racks, can be specified to give the best possible scenario for the height/width/depth and access available.
We operate in conjunction with professional equipment movers, such as Furnell & Allport – they ensure the equipment is delivered and sited in a professional manner.
Most sites have easy access and don’t require a site survey, but when they are required, they are carried out prior to quoting for a specific job – particularly in the case of moving large/awkward loads around buildings, over lintels etc. The survey is normally charged at cost up front, but Effekta will waive this cost on receipt of a suitable equipment order.
