Like all power electronics, Effekta frequency converters, industrial UPS and ELI units perform better in the long term if they are kept clean and their parameters checked at least once a year.
The units generally contain large DC capacitors and fans as well as the more sophisticated sections (Inverter IGBT Section / Rectifier Power Factor Correction and rectification etc). These areas run at significant DC voltages which is why they need to be kept clean.
In addition, Emergency Lighting Inverters have generally large (and expensive) batteries, designed to give full operation for 10 years. The battery manufacturers require that batteries are kept at specific float voltages and their temperature remains cool to achieve this long term performance. In this respect we offer maintenance visits to ensure your investment is kept in best condition.
Emergency Lighting Inverters are required by law to be checked regularly – please make sure your support staff are performing the necessary tests or else please contact us to see how we can arrange a suitable maintenance visit.
Our units are designed for ease of maintenance and diagnostics – our front panel displays and integral data loggers normally provide adequate information to be able to pin point any problem area, from wrong phase rotation to overload situations.
