Effekta means ‘Power’ in Swedish and this neatly summarises the company's core strengths in delivering rugged and reliable power solutions for a diverse range of critical applications - see our clients pages for examples. The company was founded in 1998 by Kevin Brown to manufacture, sell and service products in the Static Inverter, Frequency Converter and Industrial UPS sectors, and has earned an enviable reputation for the quality and reliability of its products world wide.

Barry Williams, Technical Director - Orbik Electronics Initially the company marketed MLA Power System’s products but in recent years has developed it’s own in-house solutions. At the low power range, the company works closely with Effekta Power Systems in Sweden – and has designed on their behalf the EPSD range of Static Inverters, which we also market here in the UK.

The EF20 range is used for the larger units, which were also designed in-house and utilise the latest digital technologies (DSP’s) without compromising the reliability and ruggedness required by the market place.

We supply single phase and three phase industrial uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and frequency converters (50Hz to 60Hz & 50Hz to 400Hz), and single phase and three phase inverters.

We carry out project engineering and consultancy work, and we are always interested in developing products in niche markets, in cooperation with our technical partners.

Kevin Brown Wayne Andreff
Kevin is the MD, managing the strategy and direction of the company - also the chief technical designer for Effekta. Wayne is the Technical and Purchasing Manager, responsible for the day to day running of the factory and service department.
